ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management

The National Milling Co. of Guyana Inc. (NAMILCO) is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing company. In order to comply with the ISO 9001:2008 Standard the NAMILCO has to ensure that certain production procedures are established, implemented and maintained by each department involved and that the system is audited continually by a group of trained Quality Auditors for compliance, as well as to determine ways and means of improving the processes. The production processes are also audited annually by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 Standards for which NAMILCO was certified on May 01, 2009.

NAMILCO’s operations are food related and as such we must ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations. The Quality Control Department - the Laboratory or Lab - is integral to ensuring food safety and product quality.

To achieve this, the Company has committed itself to developing, maintaining and continually improving its Quality Management System which conforms to the ISO 9001:2008 Standard, as well as relevant statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the Food Industry.

At Namilco, everyone is responsible for quality and for implementing the requirements of the Quality Management System in their respective areas.
